Killing Eve’s Jodie Comer Dedicates First Emmy Win to Her Mother and father for This Hilarious Cause

Congratulations to Jodie Comer!
The actress was simply honored on the 2019 Emmys for her work this yr on Killing Eve, successful Lead Actress in a Drama! To win the coveted award, she beat out Sport of Thrones star Emilia Clarke, Home of Playing cards actress Robin Wright, The way to Get Away With Homicide star Viola Davis, her Killing Eve co-star Sandra Oh, Ozark actress Laura Linney and This Is Us star Mandy Moore.
After listening to her identify referred to as, the shocked actress took the stage to just accept her award. Throughout her speech, she stated, “I used to be not anticipating to stand up on this stage tonight in any respect.”
“Oh my God! I can’t consider I’m in a class alongside these ladies, one among them who’s my co-star, Sandra Oh,” Comer continued. “Save to say Sandra that this Killing Eve journey has been an absolute whirlwind, and I really feel so fortunate to have shared this entire expertise with you.”
Comer went on to thank her dad and mom in her speech, including that she didn’t invite them to the award present.
“My mother and pa, who’re in Liverpool, who I did not invite as a result of I did not assume this was gonna be my time,” the actress advised the laughing crowd. “One, I am sorry, two, I like you and I am gonna carry it residence. Thanks very a lot.”
It was each Comer’s first Emmy nomination and win tonight.
