USM + kinder MODERN: A Colourful Wonderland for NYCxDesign

For NYCxDESIGN, New York Metropolis-based gallery/design agency kinder MODERN reimagined the SoHo showroom of modular furnishings model USM by creating an inspiring playground of concepts primarily based across the Swiss firm’s ball joint. The collaboration unveiled playful designs constructed from USM’s customizable Haller system that contains a body product of ball joints, connector tubes, and colourful panels. Whereas Haller is usually used for storage, kinder MODERN’s founder Lora Appleton took the sequence to a complete new degree.

Appleton’s colourful wonderland featured progressive storage concepts, a headboard, mini basketball courtroom, desk, sculptural plant stand, vainness, carpet-covered seating stations, and pixelated wall artwork. Interspersed with the USM items, commissioned furnishings and designs by a choose group of artists and designers, together with Buckley, Dusen Dusen, Elyse Graham, Fort Normal, Paul Ketz, Adrian Kay Wong, Diego Faivre, Yoko Nakanishi, Rodger Stevens, and Visser & Meijwaard, have been on show.
