Daosheng Design creates bar with curving bamboo sculpture

The Movement of Ecstatic is a bar in Dongguan, China, designed by Daosheng Design with an all-grey inside that includes a swooping ceiling sculpture of bamboo.

Situated within the metropolis’s enterprise district, the bar counter is topped by chrome steel, the partitions are lined in textured gray silk and the flooring are tiled in an identical gray.

A looping bamboo sculpture is suspended from the ceiling. Daosheng Design mentioned that is meant to evoke the brushstrokes of conventional Chinese language calligraphy and the actions of the dragon dance.

This dance is carried out on festive events and entails a crew of dancers shifting in synchronicity underneath a vibrant silk dragon costume.

The serpentine bamboo form is designed to be evocative of this fluid and dynamic efficiency.

Daosheng Design mentioned the studio intentionally designed the bar to encourage patrons to decompress from their hectic city existence.

“Life and leisure must be two sides,” mentioned the designers.

“Nevertheless, within the period of speedy improvement, life sped by, and trendy folks hurried to catch up, and it was tough to decelerate and luxuriate in life.”
