Architect, inside designer, and product designer Victoriya Yakusha is the founding father of Yakusha Design studio amongst a number of different artistic ventures. ONUKA

1. Ukrainian Trendy Music

2. Ukrainian Ornamental Artwork
I’ve been captivated with ornamental artwork for a few years. It has turn out to be my supply of inspiration for design – from the traditional painted vases and embroideries in our conventional material to hand-woven woolen carpets referred to as “hutsul lizhnyk”. I really like their wealthy patterns and wild textures, they usually inform us a lot in regards to the rituals, traditions, and beliefs of our ancestors.

I particularly love the work of Ukrainian self-taught painter Maria Primachenko, naïve and fabulous mythological beasts which take root іn people legends and fairy-tales. Such a proficient tandem of designers in some ways, they create a robust signature which can’t be confused with others. I really like the interiors of their trend showrooms, furnishings assortment, their model, and graphic design – every little thing is so highly effective. I all the time go to their showrooms every time I journey in Europe or the USA.

four. Handicraft
I really like crafts from everywhere in the world, issues which have been made by hand with non-mechanized instruments, information of earlier generations, and with respect to nature. 5 years in the past I found conventional Ukrainian crafts, lots of that are endangered due of lack of curiosity in them and really low profitability. So I requested myself, what can we as designers do to protect native crafts? Our answer was a design expedition, involving well-known overseas artists and press, that helped us convey consideration to this situation on a nationwide and world stage. On our first journey we highlighted Roberto Bachiocchi, architect of Prada, La Perla, Miu Miu boutiques, Annaleena Leno, proficient inside designer and stylist from Sweden, editor of ICON journal and plenty of others. This 12 months we took the challenge to a nationwide stage with the help of the Ukrainian Cultural Basis and acquired over 14 worldwide design specialists from everywhere in the world – USA, UK, Germany, Belgium, Finland, and extra. Sharing my ardour of Ukrainian crafts with others evokes me.

5. My Household
My greatest help and inspiration in life is my husband and four youngsters. I like to spend holidays collectively in our forest home, making ready barbecue, and enjoying with our canine. These moments are treasured and I worth all of them as the largest treasure in my life.
