The Who announce new album, premiere “Ball & Chain”: Stream
The Who will return in November with their first new album in 13 years. Entitled merely Who, the 11-track LP arrives on November 22nd via Interscope Information.
Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend recorded the album in London and Los Angeles throughout the Spring and Summer season of 2019. They had been joined within the studio by present drummer Zak Starkey and bassist Pino Palladino, plus Simon Townshend, Benmont Tench, Carla Azar, Joey Waronker, and Gordon Giltrap. The album was co-produced by Townshend & D. Sardy, with Dave Eringa contributing vocal manufacturing.
In line with a press launch, the songs on Who “cowl a myriad of topics together with the Grenfell Tower hearth, musical theft, spirituality, reincarnation, the facility of reminiscence, and ‘an previous rock star that has misplaced his marbles’. In the meantime, the lead single, “Ball & Chain”, is a Guantanamo protest music.
